Hi from my little corner in the world dear book friends! I hope that you are all well!
Today I have the pleasure to bring to you my thoughts on the suspense thriller ‘Before she knew him’ by Peter Swanson.
I know it has been a while since I have written up a review or a post in general for that matter. I have been finding it rather difficult to find a few minutes to sit and write.
But as they say, better late than never right? So lets get right to it!
‘Before she knew him’ is a suspense thriller that has you hooked from the first few chapters. Its about Hen and her husband Lloyd, who have recently moved to their new house, and their new neighbors, Matthew and his wife Mira. Hen is an artist who struggles with her bipolar disorder but who is now doing better and is in a good place in her life. She is happy in her marriage with Lloyd and she is excited to set up her new studio. But all of the stability that she currently has in her life goes to ruins when she cannot get the horrific idea that her new neighbor Matthew is a killer out of her head!

You really cannot say much about the book without spoiling it! So I just wont say a lot, period!
I will just say that so far this is hands down my most favorite book that I have read this year.
Story line development & pace: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Writing Style: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Would I read another book from this author: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Overall rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is the first time that I have rated a book with 5 stars!! It is something completely new for me. A dear twitter friend recently asked me what would make a book a five star read for me and I replied that it would be a book that I would like to read again. This is one of those books!
When I first read a Peter Swanson book I was just trying to get my self out of a reading slump that went on for years. It was 2017 and I had picked up a copy of ‘The kind worth killing’ and right there and then I was out of the reading slump. I fell in love with reading again thanks to Peter Swanson and his amazing writing style.
The same writing style continues in ‘Before she knew him’ but for me it was even better this time. Peter Swanson’s ability to write characters that are sooo freakishly twisted and also likeable at the same time has me hooked. The plots of his books move at such an amazing pace. Information runs freely and with no mercy through the book allowing you to get details from the POV of all characters and from all aspects, making you fall so deep into the story that you never want it to end.
If you are a fan of thrillers then this is definitely a book that you should consider adding to your reading list.
Thank you very much William Morrow (HarperCollins) and Edelweiss+ for granting me access to a review copy of this amazing book!
Thanks for stopping by to ready my review! Have you read this book? What did you think about it?
Till next time.
